Annie and I have been wanting to get a pet for our dorm for the longest time.. It has literally been on our TO DO list since the start of this semester. So last night, we decided to finally go to PetSmart and pick a pet.
We browsed and waited for the perfect pet. We needed that special connection in order to know if the pet is right for us. We looked at the reptiles, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc.. and then we saw them. The mice. Besides the fact that they were totally affordable ($7 baby), they were SO DANG CUTE. We held them and there it was.. the connection!!
In a perfect world, we would have gotten a golden retriever and a pug.. but instead, we ended up with buying two mice. A white one (Annie's obviously) named Alfonse and a black one (mine obviously) named Jerry. All in all, we were stoked! We brought them back to our dorm and played with them. We planned on teaching them tricks and what not via youtube videos. They were going to be the sickest mice ever..
The next day (today), we walked into our room.. The smell was so bad that you could smell it from outside our door, in the hallway. We came to a conclusion.. We needed to return them. After our mice met/said goodbye to their godfathers and godmothers, we headed to the pet store to return them. Twas a sad day.. and it was so fun while it lasted.
We ended up with a beta fish. Which is cool. Super cool. But you can't snuggle with it or teach it tricks or anything which is pretty sad. We are beginners in the field of pets, so I think this will be great. Freak yes for a new pet and hilarious roomie memories!!
Can't wait to come back every two weeks to return the pet and get a new one ;)

Even though yesterday was not the day, or today.. ONE DAY, I will get a golden retriever and a pug and they will be best friends and the best snuggle buddies I could ever have.
